Stay in Solitude, Stay in Solidarity | EMF
The COVID-19 pandemic has upended so many givens of the school calendar. The EMF community who were expected to reunite in FISF after the winter holidays now find themselves spread across the world. While it is difficult to come together, the EMF community always remember that we are all in this together, regardless where we are.
The EMF program is taking active actions to ensure a safe and supportive environment for our students, and meanwhile to keep our students engaged and excited about what’s going on for the spring semester.
The Learning Management System, thanks to the joint efforts made by our IT team, Education Service Center, and Faculty Support team, provides a seamless transition from face-to-face classes to online classes.
Check out what our student got to say.
Although the course has been transferred online, the quality of the courses online is as good as last semester. There are various tools in the online teaching system that help us to interact with the teacher. If you want to participate or answer a question, you can press a button and you will be able to talk directly with the professors. As members of EMF, we must take the time to adapt to any circumstance and devote ourselves to the online learning life with enthusiasm. I am looking forward to the next online course.

Finally, EMF’s international students joined a heated discussion, from a living room in Singapore, to a backyard in Russia:What’s the first thing you want to do after you return to China?
I already miss Shanghai, its atmosphere and I’m really looking forward to the day when I can come back.
The first thing I’d like to do when I come back to China is to eat Chinese food! My favorite in Shanghai is Shengjian (生煎). It’s Shanghai style type of dumpling, very tasty and delicious.
Also, I’m going to do what all tourists do: walk along the Bund. It’s one of the most beautiful and my favorite places in Shanghai, the view from there is magnificent.
Hope I’ll be able to do it all soon
Having been away from Shanghai for about three months now, the first thing I would like to do when I return to China would be to have a sumptuous meal with my close pals from FISF, followed by an all-nighter karaoke session. This was what we would usually do on a weekly basis when we were all in Shanghai, and I can’t wait for us to get together again. For now, take care everyone and I hope to see all of you soon!
